Things My Grandmother Taught Me

Things I've learned from Grandmother who taught her mother.   Your words help me today.

Worry is a waste of time and energy.

When you  feel like worrying, quote  your favorite Bible verse and then work.  The  Word of God  keeps your mind  focused on  what really counts, and work will keep  your hands busy.

When  things get too heavy for  you, give them to Jesus, for his strength  is  perfect.

When you think you  cannot handle another piece of bad news,  turn to the Good News of the Gospel. God knows what you can bear and will give no more  than  that.

Laugh and buck up.  A merry  heart doeth good like a medicine. Proverbs 17:2

Our pastor said that when  we have have worry or fear, we are breaking the first commandment, because we aren't trusting God and putting Him first.  I  think that's what my Grandmother and Mom were trying to teach me.
