Amy's Primer

When Joseph, our youngest son, was around four or five, we purchased a floppy disk for our old IBM computer called Amy's Primer.  This disk taught shapes, numbers, and letters for preschool children.  This program  had one flaw, however, once Amy's Primer ran on the computer, for some reason, we had to run it before we could run other programs.  Minor flaw, really ,because Joseph learned a lot from Amy's Primer.

Sunday, I had the joy of visiting with my niece, Amy.  She shared with us a trial she is going through.  Her trial is difficult, but as she shared, I realized that she is a remarkable young woman. She could easily give in and give up, but she has not. Determined to overcome she presses forward, and she does it all with a smile and a laugh.  Now, don't laugh, and I hope my dear Amy will take this in the way I mean it, but while she shared  with us  about her trial, I thought, "I have my own Amy's Primer."  Amy taught me on Sunday, not to give up and give in, but to face the giant before me.  Amy's struggle to overcome her giant, became a lesson to me to overcome mine.

Thank you, Amy, for honestly sharing your struggle.
