Enchilada Sauce Recipe

Today, I wanted to make chicken enchiladas for our afternoon dinner, but alas and alack I had no enchilada sauce.  Did that deter me?  I thought about what I thought was in the canned sauce, and I thought , well, now you can at least try it.  I came up with a sauce that the family loved.  Joseph said, "This is a keeper recipe, did you right it down? "  I wrote as I worked on a post-it note, so I am writing it here, and if I lose the post-it, I will have it...and if you like, you can try it too. Telephone in the Toilet

Yep, that's the right title for this.  Tuesday, I took a break before I gathered the kindergarten books to check them into the library, and went into the teacher's restroom.  Thankfully no other teacher was there.  I had my cell phone in my sweater pocket, and as I went to...well, you get the idea, the phone fell out of my pocket. I heard a plop, and clink.  Humm, I wondered, that's not a good sound.  I looked, and before I  could think, I reached in and pulled that phone out.  I hopped over to the paper towels and began madly to wipe it off.  Thankfully the water looked clean.  I then uttered an expletive, and I am ashamed of that, and quickly asked Jesus to forgive me, and then just as quickly the Lord brought our Monday night Bible study to my mind, the trials of Job.  Now this little trial of mine, was nothing compared with Job's, but it comforted me.  What would we do without the word! John had just gotten this phon...

Fun with Ethan and Luna

Image
Last Saturday, February 26, Papa and I took our grandchildren, Ethan and Luna to the Desert Museum.  They had such fun seeing all the wonderful animals that God created.  Ethan likes turtles, so we went there first, and he wanted to pretend he was a turtle.  His comment after being in the shell, "Boy Oma, it's hard being a turtle all day."  For a llittle boy that loves to run and play, life a shell would seem a bit confining!  Luna pearched herself on the large turtle, and was content with that.  She loved the otters and stood in awe that they would swim on their backs.  Of course, each new animal they saw became the favorite.  The natural settings enthralled the children too. At the zoo, animals live in cages and the cages provide a sense of saftey for the little ones.  When we went to see the wolves, they couldln't see  cages, and wondered if they would get out, but we assured them the animals were enclosed, but people couldn't ...
