Each New Day a Blessing
Recently I watched Listen to Your Heart, warning, it is an incredibly sad movie, yet hopeful movie. So if you watch it on Netflix be prepared to have a box of tissues handy. There was line in the movie that struck a chord of my heart, "Get up every morning saying, it's a great day to be alive."
That's true, isn't it. I write a lot on this blog about complaining. That's a sin, I am too attached to, and the Lord wants me to deal with it. I've been seeking His guidance. The Word has a lot to say about complaining. How can I can have a complaining heart, when I begin my day saying, It's a great day to be alive? Each day the Lord gives us, is a day we have a new opportunity to create a memory in the lives of those around us. I ask myself, "Do you want to leave a memory of a complaining woman?" I want to leave sweet memories. I want to be truly thankful for all the blessings my Lord has so graciously given me. Even trials are a blessing, because in them we see God at work, working all things out for us.
In my journal, I now begin each new day writing three things that I am thankful for. In doing this, I have discovered that a thankful heart cannot be a complaining heart.
The first commandment says, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," How can put God first if I complain about what He has allowed for my life?
I blow it a lot, and probably you do too, but we have a Father who has sent his only begotten Son to forgive us all our sins. He lived the perfect life that we could not. He bore our sins on the cross, and rose again for our justification. Awesome, isn't it. When you're feeling down because of some sin ponder what Christ has done. Who can complain about that?
