End of Another Year

Image result for time images           Time Flies.  Another turn of the calendar page brings another year.  How do we mark time?  Do we mark  it  by our successes or our failures?  Do we mark it by our health or our wealth; how many times we  went to the doctor, or how much we were able to accumulate?  Do we mark it by the number of likes on a Facebook page?

Speaking of Facebook and reading some of the postings, 2016 appears to be a bad "time" because of two events: the election of Donald Trump as president and the passing of Princess Leia, in the person of  Carrie Fisher.   Frankly, to me, this seems pure foolishness.

Today I read Psalm 119.  This psalm is remarkable for me on many levels most of which would need another blog posting, but in the reading it said that God  controls our days.  He keeps the world  spinning.  God knows all things.  He knew who would be the best president for all the nation for His reasons and purposes.  He knew when it was time for Carrie Fisher's work to be over.  We know none of these things, and just thinking on that alone, it makes me not to waste the precious time we do have.  Whether you  or  I have 10 seconds or 10 years left to live should cause us to use what time we have left wisely.

The end of something also brings the beginning of something.  The end of 2016 brings the beginning of 2017 and it too will fly by.  How shall we live?

For me, I want to be grateful for all Christ has done for me.  I am not always thankful, are you?
I want to use my tongue for lifting up and not tearing down.  I want to care more about others than I do for myself.  I know I may not always succeed, but I know that I am forgiven by the one, who gave Himself for me to live the life I  could not, and die to pay for my sins...Jesus Christ.  I hope you know Him and the great love he has for you.  Time with Christ, is time well spent.  What He has done for us, makes our lives Wonderful indeed.
