Spring Cleaning

It is summer, but I have been "spring cleaning".  We've added new drywall to two of our walls in the living room, painted, dusted, and washed floors.  I spent some time going through a box of my mother's cards and letters.  She passed away several years ago, but only now have I been able to look through those things.  And as you can see, I have spruced up the blog a bit.  I'm not sure I like it, and you have to scroll down to see the list of followers, most popular postings for the month, and how to follow via email. I'm not sure if anyone will take the time to do that, so I tried to change it back to the old style, but alas, this cannot be done. My husband and daughter spent an hour trying to get it back for me.

When a person spring cleans things change, and at first we may not like what we see.  It takes time to adapt. Maybe I shall adapt to the new style of blog, or perhaps I shall change it again...this is a woman's prerogative, right?

Change can be good, but change just for the sake of change isn't of itself good.  This I think can be proven true based on the 2008 election, but I digress.  What is the purpose of the change?  This is the question to ask whether a room is changed or a blog or a lifestyle change.  Long ago, when I was a little girl my mother had decided to change her bedroom around.  My father worked a night shift, can't remember the hours, but he got home way after our bedtime. My Mom left a note for Dad on the kitchen table, because he always had a snack before bed, or so she thought.  He came tired that night and skipped the snack to head straight to bed.  He quietly came into their bedroom, and quietly changed, and then got into the bed, at least the bed where he remembered it to be.  The next thing we heard was, "Who the ____ moved the _ bed?"  That change didn't turn out well for Dad!

This is another stream of conscienceness  bit of writing.  Sorry about that.   Anyway, change is something to think about, nay, something to pray about.
