Streams of thoughts

My days have been quite busy recently, but I am not sure if the busyness has produced much fruit in things accomplished.  Have you had days like that?  Part of my busyness comes in preparing to celebrate Jayne's graduation from the University.  This is a major accomplishment  and should be celebrated properly.  Yesterday we went to a senior celebration lunch and I met one of Jayne's professors, and how wonderful to hear that she sees in Jayne all that we, her family, sees.  I take  some mother pride in this---a fruit of parenting. : )

Some busyness doesn't always show itself productive right away.  I have done some research on the quiverful movement and the daughters at home movement. Research takes time, and  I will report my findings here later.  Perhaps this latest venture is a product of my getting sidetracked.  It came about because of a new friend I have made, and I realized that we could have been headed down a similar path if God had not guided us away from this movement.  God's  protecting hand on us.

How many ways does guide us and keep us and we are totally ignorant of what He has chosen to keep us from?  Does that make sense?  Often I find I fret over something and discover later that all along my Heavenly Father has protected me and guided me, and kept me in the Way!

I thought of this poem today when I went to hang some wash on the line:
I'll tell you how the sun rose
A ribbon at a time
The steeples swam in amethyst
The news, like squirrels, ran
The hills untied their bonnets
The bobolinks begun
Then I said softly to myself,
That must have been the sun.
Christine Rossetti, I think

Glad that I had teachers who encouraged the learning of poetry.
