Little Surprises

Do you like surprises?  I do, but the ones I like most are the unexpected ones. Okay, so you think that last statement is an oxymoranic one, but here's what I mean.  Birthdays and Christmases come every year, no surprise that you will receive packages.  You may even know what to expect in those packages, because if you are anything like me, you have put out plenty of hints!  I can honestly say that until yesterday, I have only been truly unexpectedly surprised once in my life.  February 17th of last year was our son Timothy's birthday.  We called him early in the morning to wish him a happy birthday, but he said, "I have to go, I can't talk."  Needless to say we were upset and blamed the pressure on him from his workplace in Wisconsin.  This is all John and I talked about on our way to my violin lesson.  After the lesson, we went out for lunch still lamenting that his boss is, "just way to hard on Timothy." Time Changes Everything

Wow, four months since my last post.  A lot has happened in these last four months.  My youngest son graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master's degree.  My daughter got an internship with UA Presents, which is awesome, and another son got engaged to a wonderful young woman.  We are happy about these changes in our lives, but some changes that were not as welcome came out of the blue. A dear friend lost her son in a very tragic way.  No sense in asking why, since it wouldn't do any good. God is in control, and that is what I must remember.  I miss this child and I grieve for his Mother who will never be quite the same again.  Take time for the important things in life, hugging children and granchildren, reminding each other of our love, and of course a little laughter.
